Research Universities

Georgia is home to four research universities that generate more than $2.2 billion in federal research funding. All four  are accessible from the metro Atlanta region, with three near downtown. 

Medical Schools

Metro Atlanta is home to some of the top medical universities and clinical training programs in the country, including Emory University School of Medicine, Morehouse School of Medicine, and Mercer University School of Pharmacy. These institutions house and train clinicians and researchers who work at the many hospitals in the region.
