MAC Chats with Georgia Foundation for Public Education

September 8, 2021

We recently sat down with Paige Pushkin, Executive Director of the Georgia Foundation for Public Education (GFPE). GFPE now manages the Innovation Fund Foundation, which offers a tax-deductible portal for individuals and organizations to directly support students in our most challenged schools.

Georgia’s public schools take on a massive challenge each year, educating over 1.7 million young people. Faced with even more obstacles given the current pandemic, our schools that were struggling to improve before need our help more than ever. Several years ago the Georgia General Assembly, under the guidance of then-Representative Brooks Coleman, chair of the House Education Committee, established an Innovation Fund that provides unique turn-around support for schools who want to improve student academic performance and teacher professional development.

The Metro Atlanta Chamber was proud to support that legislation, and we recently sat down with Paige Pushkin, Executive Director of the Georgia Foundation for Public Education (GFPE). GFPE now manages the Innovation Fund Foundation, which offers a tax-deductible portal for individuals and organizations to directly support students in our most challenged schools.
