There Are Big Benefits to Companies that Offer Childcare Resources

Home Depot has become a leader in childcare resourcing for its employees. After the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation started promoting Home Depot's work in its report last year, their initiative is picking up some notice.

Childcare benefits aren't just about benefit packages anymore. As more and more companies like Home Depot are recognizing, childcare and other family resources, are an essential part of culture for a company of any size. Read the full story from WABE's Martha Dalton here

These benefits can have a huge impact on both the local economy, and on a region's ability to attract, grow and retain key talent.

Research shows when workers have access to quality care, they miss fewer days of work, productivity increases and turnover decreases. Companies like Turner Broadcasting, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and law firms Alston & Bird and King & Spalding all offer on-site child care centers. The new Mercedes-Benz headquarters in Sandy Springs will also have on-site care. Experts say companies that offer those preschool settings are also helping prepare future workers.
