Successful passage of the MARTA ballot measure has urban planners both inside and outside the metro region talking about what’s next.  Thanks to Atlanta voters, MARTA expansion will be funded by new one-half penny sales tax, projected to raise $2.5 billion over the next 40 years.   And voters didn’t just vote “yes”, they registered  resounding support.

Additionally, City of Atlanta voters also authorized a .75 cent sales tax, estimated to raise $300 million over the next five years.  Those funds would go toward multi-use trails, light-rail, and the BeltLine Loop completion.
