MAC Launches Education and Workforce Playbook for ATL Action for Racial Equity

Today MAC unveiled the final playbooks in the ATL Action for Racial Equity initiative: Education and Workforce Development. These playbooks follow the two for Corporate Policies and Inclusive Economic Development, which can be found here. The ATL Action for Racial Equity initiative, launched in February, is a multi-year, multi-step program designed to help address the ongoing effects of systemic racism impacting the Black community.

The actions in each playbook relate back to key performance indicators that connect to our broader data. The Education playbook breaks out into three key areas: early education, career learning, and post-secondary education. Workforce Development serves to build upon the collective work of the other three playbooks to support workforce participation and closing the wealth gap for the Black community.

Many thanks to the panelists who joined us for the launch, Forest Harper, President & CEO of Inroads, Cheryl Watson-Harris, Superintendent of DeKalb County Schools, Lain Shakespeare, Senior Director of Corporate Citizenship at Mailchimp, and moderator Peter Williams, Head of Community Strategy at BlackRock Atlanta.
