It's a wrap. And, what a wonderful week it's been.

The MAC policy team welcomed a number of special guests to the Chamber to meet with our members and we celebrated the legacy of a former governor.

Rob Woodall @ Chamber

It all began on Monday with Congressman Rob Woodall's visit to the Chamber to join the Business Advisory Roundtable in a healthy discussion on an array of federal policy issues.  During his Capitol briefing, Rep. Woodall updated the Roundtable on legislation pending in the U.S. House of Representatives including measures addressing water policy and the Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement (TPP).

Rep. Woodall represents Georgia's 7th District which includes portions of Gwinnett and Forsyth Counties.  He serves on the House Budget Committee, Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, and the Committee on Rules.

Some noteworthy quotes from the session:

"If you want to improve your quality of life, you've got to have that diploma" - Dr. Meria Carstarphen

"There is dignity in skilled trade" - Lt. Governor Casey Cagle

"We can't assume the traditional school model will work to prepare our kids" - Superintendent Jeff Rose

The panel discussion was facilitated by Shan Cooper, Chair of MAC's Education to Workforce Council.

Congratulations Governor Perdue from the entire MAC policy team.
