Aligning Georgia’s skilled labor pool with available jobs in the marketplace is an ever evolving process. Industry demands are changing at a more rapid rate and there is no one-size-fits all approach to meeting this workforce challenge. Yet, employers are searching and offering industry specific solutions that may yield new, qualified talent.
Mike Kenig, vice chairman of Holder Construction Company and member of MAC’s Educated Workforce Council, is actively engaged in this pursuit. In a recently published opinion piece, Mike points out the importance of Career and Technical Education (CTE) for both business and the 70% of students that are not bound for a four-year college degree.
