This week, as we travel to meet family and friends, the MAC policy team wishes everyone a safe and happy holiday.
As we sit down to enjoy our traditional feast, the football bonanza and perhaps some holiday shopping, let us not forget to take a few minutes to reflect upon why we gather for this national holiday. Much of the intent behind the first Thanksgiving nearly 400 years ago, is still applicable today.
In 1621, the English settlers and Native Americans together celebrated their new found friendship as well as the bounty of the harvest. This was possible because all were willing to find common ground and to work together for the greater good.
So, today we express our gratitude to those partners and colleagues who work with us on a daily basis, striving to make Atlanta and Georgia a better place to live, work and play.
