Referring to lawmakers' "tenacity and courage," Governor Nathan Deal says he'll go to the mat for those who supported the transportation funding bill last year and who face re-election in 2016. The governor said HB 170 is "probably going to be the biggest visible evidence of tax reform and the results of it that we have seen in this state in a very, very long time." He also called upon civic leaders to step up and do the same.
His comments come as the Georgia Department of Transportation prepares to release a list of new statewide projects to be funded by revenue generated by bill.
