Lawmakers are gathering in Atlanta for the convening of the 154th Georgia General Assembly. The 2017-2018 legislative session is set to get underway this morning.
MAC’s policy team has been hard at work over the past eight months attending study committee meetings on topics ranging from FinTech to Regional Transit to Base Realignment and Closure. Not to mention, the teams education and workforce directors have been forging coalitions of interests around issues including talent development, the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), not to mention school funding. All of these issues and more are topics for discussion under the Gold Dome. Plus, we’re looking forward to working with a number of new representatives and senators elected by voters across the region last November.
