Georgia Production Partnership, a not-for-profit coalition of companies and individuals who are active in the state’s film, video, music and interactive game industries, is hosting Film Day at the Capitol on Wednesday, March 15 at 9:00 AM in the South Wing.  The event will shine the spotlight on Georgia’s film industry and celebrate film’s past, present and future in Georgia.

The impact of the film and television industry continues to grow.  To date, more than 800 film and TV projects have been shot in Georgia. In 2015, the last year for reliable figures, feature films and television productions generated an economic impact of $6 billion to the state, according to the Georgia Department of Economic Development. The impact is felt across the board including the hospitality industry in rooms for cast and crew, restaurants and caterers for meals/craft services, real estate for location rentals and, of course, for the actors, talent agents, casting directors and professional production crew working on the projects.
