The General Assembly has released its 2016 adjournment resolution laying out the proposed schedule for the legislative session.  Despite being only a few weeks old, sine die, the final legislative day of the session is scheduled for March 24, 2016.

The Georgia General Assembly is constitutionally required to complete its business in 40 days.  Typically, this schedule includes several recess weeks, a handful of holidays and shortened work weeks.  The 40 day legislative session generally extends into mid to late April.

The hastened pace of this year's legislative session means "Crossover Day," the final day new legislation can be introduced, will occur on Monday, February 29.
