Carl Ware, former executive of The Coca-Cola Company and 2002 Chairman of the Metro Atlanta Chamber, was recognized today from the House Floor by House Resolution 1084 by Representative Lynn Smith.

Mr. Ware has served in the Atlanta City Council for six years and served as its first black president from 1976-1979. He held several executive roles at The Coca-Cola Company, including Executive Vice President for Global Public Affairs before his retirement in 2003. Mr. Ware founded The Coca-Cola Foundation He also served on many boards including Georgia Power, National Life of Vermont, Cummins, Chevron, and PGA Tour Golf Course Properties, as well as the Council on Foreign Relations, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, and as chairman of the Metropolitan Atlanta Chamber of Commerce.
His book entitled Portrait of an American Businessman: One Generation from Cotton Field to Boardroom was released in August 2019.
