The House Rural Development Council concluded a two day meeting in Tifton, GA with Metro Atlanta Chamber staff in attendance. For the state of Georgia to continue thriving, all parts of the state must succeed whether it is suburban, urban, or rural areas. Many businesses headquartered in metro Atlanta have locations spread across the state, including rural areas. And in fact, the Metro Atlanta Chamber's foot print, the 29 county MSA, includes less developed rural areas.
The issues facing our rural Georgia communities are many, including workforce, education, infrastructure, and healthcare challenges. The Metro Atlanta Chamber's staff plans to attend and contribute to the efforts of this council as it continues its work over the next two years.
