Responding to COVID-19 (Coronavirus)

We are continually monitoring the COVID-19 (coronavirus disease) outbreak and its effect on metro Atlanta. The following information is designed to help metro Atlanta's businesses as they navigate global health updates, public safety concerns, remote working and telecommuting, data security risks, communication strategies and more. To stay up to date on ongoing disease prevention tips and facts about COVID-19, we encourage use of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) resources. This page will continually be updated as information changes in the State of Georgia and beyond.

MAC's COVID-19 Policy

MAC has developed a policy regarding COVID-19 that reflects practices that have emerged from CDC recommendations and across the business community. Our top priority is the safety of our staff, investors and visitors. We are committed to maintaining business continuity, and we are taking the necessary steps to ensure that we remain productive and responsive throughout this situation. The Task Force to Restore Georgia’s Economy

The Metro Atlanta Chamber has been closely following COVID-19 and the rapidly evolving impact it is having on our daily lives and our community. We are committed to doing our part as we work together to ensure the health of our families and neighbors and the health of our economy as we navigate these unprecedented times.

Aligned with best practices that have emerged in communities across the U.S., we established MAC’s Task Force to Restore Georgia’s Economy earlier this month. With leadership from John Rice, chairman of GE Gas Power, and support by the Boston Consulting Group, we aim to provide a blueprint for how metro Atlanta and our state might accelerate recovery in a fiscally responsible and practically achievable way that takes into consideration our most vulnerable populations and prioritizes the health of our families and neighbors.

The Task Force will deliver a comprehensive list of policy solutions that federal, state and/or local governments in Georgia can apply to rapidly recover from the current economic shutdown. Task Force members include a diverse group of retired CEOs, current C-level leaders, Fortune 1000 board members, college and university presidents, next-generation executives and several MAC past board chairs.
