The U.S. Amateur Championship conducted by the USGA is returning to metro Atlanta for the first time since 2001 when it was held at East Lake Golf Club. From August 9-17 this prestigious event will be at the Atlanta Athletic Golf Club. Don’t miss out on an opportunity to witness the stars of tomorrow seek to join the names of legendary winners of this event, like; Bobby Jones, Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus, Tiger Woods, and many more.

Last year’s winner, Matt Fitzpatrick, became the first English champion of the U.S. Amateur Championship since 1911, and this year promises to once again add to the history of golf with another fantastic field. The format remains the same for the tournament with two rounds of stroke play to cut the field from the initial 312 qualifying players to 64, who will then compete shot-for-shot in a match play until the final day when only two players remain. The final day matchup will be a 36-hole showdown to determine the champion.

To purchase tickets for the 2014 U.S. Amateur Championship please visit the U.S. Amateur website, http://www.2014usamateur.com/, or contact the Atlanta Athletic Club directly by calling (770) 368-7722.
