Bowers joined Georgia Power as a residential sales representative with Gulf Power in 1979. Most recently, Bowers served as chief financial officer of Southern Company. Previously, he was president of Southern Company Generation and president and CEO of Southern Power. Bowers also served as president and CEO of Southern Company's former United Kingdom subsidiary, and senior vice president and chief marketing officer for Southern Company. Earlier in his career, he held executive positions at Georgia Power. Born 1956.
