MAC Names Cathy A. Martin Vice President of Entrepreneurial Growth Services

The Metro Atlanta Chamber (MAC) announced today that Cathy A. Martin has been named vice president of Entrepreneurial Growth Services.

In this new role, Martin will support MAC’s strategy to start, grow and recruit companies by leading initiatives to connect and expand small businesses.

“Cathy has played a key role in strengthening relationships with partners throughout our region,” said Janice Rys, Senior Vice President of Investor Relations, Metro Atlanta Chamber. “Her extensive experience will be instrumental in helping companies expand as well as connecting small and large businesses together.”

Previously, Martin served as Vice President of Economic Development for Project Development and Regional Affairs team which focused on developing leads and maintaining strong relationships with our regional partners.

Prior to joining MAC, Martin was chief procurement officer at the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission (WSSC) in Laurel, Md., one of the nation’s largest water/waste water utilities. In her role at WSSC, she was responsible for developing and directing operations and overseeing an average of $800 million in annual contracts over the most recent fiscal years. 

She also served for seven years as deputy chief procurement officer for the City of Atlanta, where she initiated reforms and revamped procurement strategies for city government and capital projects in excess of $4 billion. Earlier in her career she spent 23 years in various key roles at BellSouth Telecommunications.
