High marks given to Atlanta Public Schools

Over 900 guests attended the 14th annual A+ Awards held in the Georgia Ballroom of the Georgia World Congress Center on April 23rd. The 2004 A+ Awards sponsored by the Atlanta Partners for Education (APFE), is a joint venture between the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce and the Atlanta Public Schools (APS) system. Each year the A+ Awards salutes all the Teachers of the Year as well as outstanding partners that support the Atlanta Public School system. In the lobby of the ballroom, an art gallery displayed student designed pieces. Paintings, masks and also puppets representing school partner companies were a hot item with the buyers. Proceeds from the art sale benefit the APS Art Fund.
