Welcome to The Phoenix, the Chamber’s e-newsletter.
In this edition, hear the public service announcements (PSAs) that began running last week on radio, television and in The Atlanta Journal-Constitution on water conservation. The project is a partnership with the Chamber, The Home Depot, the Atlanta Regional Commission and the Metropolitan North Georgia Water Planning District.

Business and Government Leaders Join Forces for
Water Public Service Announcements
Starting last week, public service announcements (PSAs) began running on radio, television and in The Atlanta Journal-Constitution on water conservation. The project is a partnership with the Chamber, The Home Depot, the Atlanta Regional Commission and the Metropolitan North Georgia Water Planning District.
Broadcast PSAs will feature water conservation tips from Mayor Shirley Franklin; John Somerhalder, president and CEO of AGL Resources, Inc, and chair of the Chamber's Environmental Policy and Sustainability Council; Sam Olens, chairman, Cobb County Board of Commissioners, and chair of the Atlanta Regional Commission; and Frank Blake, chairman and CEO of The Home Depot.
The radio PSAs will air on WSB-AM and WABE, and the TV spots will be featured on WSB, WXIA and GPB. They are expected to air over the next six to eight weeks.

German Compressed Air Technology Company to
Open Production Facility in Atlanta
BEKO Technologies to invest $4 million and create 35 jobs in Fulton County facility German compressed air technology company BEKO Technologies GmbH announced on Feb. 26, they will locate a new production facility in Atlanta. The company plans to invest $4 million and create 35 jobs through its American subsidiary, BEKO Technologies Corp., at their new Fulton County facility.
“Beko Technologies has selected an ideal location to grow and thrive,” said Hans Gant, senior vice president of economic development for the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce. “Metro Atlanta continues to be an ideal location to attract international companies. We're the business hub of the Southeast and the fastest growing region of the country.”

Southface's 2008 Visionary Dinner

Rick Fedrizzi, president, CEO and founding chairman of the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), will be the 2008 Visionary Dinner Keynote. The annual gala celebrates sustainability in business and the community. A five-course, organic meal donated by Whole Foods and created by top area chefs, paired with sustainability produced wines, is the centerpiece of the evening. Ticket prices for individuals are $165, with a VIP reception for an additional $45 and corporate tables available for $1,850.
