American-Israel and Metro Atlanta Chambers Partner on Business Mission to Israel
The Atlanta-based American-Israel Chamber of Commerce (AICC) and the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce led an Atlanta business delegation on a mission to Israel on Nov 4. The mission was co-led by David Hartnett, vice president of technology industry expansion for the Metro Atlanta Chamber; and Laurie Olivier, chairman-elect of the American-Israel Chamber of Commerce, and partner, Veritas Venture Capital.
"Israel is a hotbed for medical devices and information technology and development," said Hartnett. "The trip to Israel was a great opportunity to promote metro Atlanta as a suitable investment destination for international companies.”
A focus for this year’s mission will be on building relationships between U.S. and Israeli companies in the biomedical area. A number of life sciences companies have already benefited from U.S. and Israeli partnerships, including Given Imaging, Life Therapeutics and Cell Dynamics. The mission will also seek to promote Atlanta as a base for clinical trials of biomedical products.
