Metro Atlanta's public education system is critical to the region's long-term development as a world-class place to live and work.
The Metro Atlanta Chamber formed a Regional Education Policy Committee representing a broad cross-section of the business community to identify the most effective ways business can help improve student achievement in the 15 school systems in the metro Atlanta region.
The committee partners with the regional superintendents to address needs in the 15-system region. Based on input from the superintendents, the committee establishes areas of focus to improve schools and student achievement.
The committee works with other education stakeholders, the State Superintendent of Education and the Governor to accomplish identified goals. Since about 44 percent of the student population in the state resides in this metro region, the committee recognizes that an impact on student achievement in the region affects overall state statistics.
