The Atlanta Sports Council strives to put Atlanta in position to host more major sporting events, more often, than any other city in the world – thus positively affecting the quality of life of its residents.
The Atlanta Sports Council (ASC), a division of the Metro Atlanta Chamber, facilitates the growth and development of sports in metro Atlanta by serving as a recruiter for major regional, national and international sports events. The organization plays an important role in improving the quality of life for residents in the region through sports, working to drive economic growth and visibility and acting as an advocate for the area teams and annual sports events.
Over the years, the ASC has established a legacy of success within the sports community and has played a role in helping to attract and support more than 100 major sporting events to metro Atlanta, including Super Bowl XXVIII and XXXIV, the Centennial Olympic Games, two NCAA Women’s Final Four, four NCAA Men’s Final Four, three ACC Men’s Basketball Championships, WrestleMania XXVII, two PGA Championship, the annual TOUR Championship, and the MLB, NBA and NHL All-Star Games.
Looking ahead, Atlanta will host the 2018 College Football Playoff National Championship, 2018 NCAA Men’s Basketball South Regional, Super Bowl LIII in 2019 and the 2020 NCAA Men’s Final Four.
